You can buy a really good motorbike for significantly less than it will cost you to buy a really good car, and you'll generally pay less road tax, insurance and maintenance costs, too.

But you should always buy one of the best motorbike helmets to protect your head.

Where the costs can start to mount up, though, is on your protective bike gear, and you really don't want to skimp on that. A good quality bike helmet, for example, can easily cost you upwards of £500. And when it comes to helmets my belief is that you should pay as much as you can afford.

Sure, you can get a cheaper lid but it will be a cheaper construction so it might not fit as well, it probably won't be as well vented, which leads to fogging of the visor in wet weather, and it may well be heavier than a premium helmet. So while a budget helmet should tick all the necessary legal safety boxes it probably won't tick many other boxes.

It makes sense, then, to splash out on a helmet – but what if you don't have the cash to splash? Fear not, because highly rated bike gear retailer Revzilla currently has a sale on, offering up to 50% off high end helmets.

If you're a biker you may be aware of Revzilla already for its informative product videos. What you might not be aware of, is that while Revzilla is a US site, it ships to the UK for US$30 flat rate. And considering you can save up to $700 in this helmet sale, that $30 is a drop in the Atlantic Ocean. (Although do note that not all helmets in the sale ship to the UK due to manufacturer restrictions.)

I've highlighted some of the helmets on sale below but do click through to the sale page as there are 22 to choose from in total.
